The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a "Pomodoro" (Italian for tomato), named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Cirillo used as a university student.
LoFi music typically has repetitive beats and minimal lyrics, which makes it less distracting than other genres. The steady rhythm can help maintain focus while the ambient nature provides just enough audio stimulation to mask distracting background noises. Research has shown that music with moderate complexity can enhance productivity for many people.
Yes! You can customize all timer durations in the Settings page. You can set your preferred times for Pomodoro sessions, short breaks, medium breaks, and long breaks according to your personal productivity patterns.
You can change the background color by clicking on one of the five colored circles located beneath the timer. Each circle represents a different color gradient that will be applied to the entire app immediately upon selection.
The timer functionality works offline, but the LoFi music streaming requires an internet connection since it pulls from a LoFi API. Your settings are saved in your browser's local storage, so they'll persist even if you close the browser.
